SCHOOL DISTRICT

Background
A School District was in the process of a technology upgrade for their telecommunications system. Open One Solutions anticipate the potential costs based on a variety of technology upgrade options. Open One Solutions reviewed current as well as potential solutions. Open One Solutions prepared this report for no charge to the School District.

Outcome
Open One Solutions created a complete telecommunications review including a study that showed the anticipated rate funding. The School District kept their current technology. Background
The firm with sales associates and offices located throughout the United States was looking into their cellular service option and hoping to find a more cost-effective solution to their complex cellular network. Open One Solutions was brought in to evaluate their unique needs as a national organization and to offer a comprehensive report on all available cellular service scenarios.

Outcome
Open One Solutions presented multiple options and ported the company to a new provider of Cellular services. In this case, We were able to liberate the firm from spending over $3,700 per month by offering an alternative solution that would average $2,600 per month for a stronger service provider which offered greater coverage. Thus the customer was able to save almost 30% per month or a savings of $13,200 annually.

COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE FIRM

Background
The firm is looking for a new telecommunications provider for their voice and data services. Their decision would be based on customer service, price, type of service, and an assurance that the provider be in the market 3 plus years from now.

Outcome
Open One Solutions recommended an Integrated solution as the number one choice. This solution allowed the flexibility to add POTS service (up to 24 lines) as well as increase the internet speed to a full T1. (1.544 megs). The service was affordable and the company has an excellent track record of on-time installation. Open One Solutions also wanted a migration path for a fully integrated VoIP Solution.

NON-PROFIT MEDICAL CENTER

Background
The Medical Center was looking for a new provider for voice and data services. They wished to increase their Internet connection to a true dedicated service from a DSL connection and at the same time maintain or reduce their current cost structure. In addition to this they were looking for a service provider which would provide 24x7x365 customer care answered by a live human being.

Outcome
Open One Solutions focused on five competitive alternatives. These alternatives ranged in savings from 20 to 32%. In the end, The Medical Center chose a excellent provider, which offered a 20% savings. The chosen provider, while not the lowest cost was chosen was for service – a priority over best price for the foundation. The Medical Center wanted one number to call for all of their service requirements, and the chosen provider fit the bill. In addition to this, the provider’s web-portal was preferred for the ability to run complete reports. Today Open One Solutions is working on a migration of this center to a fully integrated Hosted VoIP solution.

CHICAGO HOTEL

Background
The Hotel was in the process of meeting a corporate mandate of offering high-speed Internet service to 30% of their rooms. The hotel needed superior Internet offerings, while at the same time, needed to cut costs in order to finance the project. The hotel was engaged in a long distance agreement that they assumed was a good deal.

Outcome
Open One Solutions suggested a complete telecommunications and data services audit. We then collected all of the data and, after review, eliminated many of the hidden charges they faced and provided equipment upgrade requirements that worked with their budget. In addition, Open One Solutions was able to locate dramatic savings in long distance costs. Upon completion of the project, the client enjoyed an outstanding 47% residual monthly savings on their telecommunications services, while at the same time increasing their internet connectivity from a basic non- business class DSL service to a fully managed dedicated solution.

INSURANCE BROKERAGE GROUP

Background
The Insurance Broker faced the challenge of moving to a new facility in Bannockburn from Northfield. Timeframe: 4 weeks. They wished to maintain their relationship with current service provider, but had been unable to negotiate a more aggressive price.

Outcome
Open One Solutions presented five competitive alternatives, including, through negotiation, a more aggressive price offering from The Group’s current telecommunications provider. Open One Solutions further obtained commitments to have new services installed within the required time frame, while reducing The Group’s average monthly cost structure from over $1,650 to under $1,200 monthly. This negotiation included an increase in the current service offerings for The Insurance Group, while reducing cost structure. This included the upgrade of their fractional 512K internet connection to a full T1. Total savings: over 30%, combined with 3 times increase in dedicated internet connection speed. Today Open One Solutions has upgraded the account to Ethernet combined with redundant service from a cable provider for added protection.
