Wireless Business Phones

Wireless phone (protocol) solutions come in two distinct types:

  1. WIFI - WIFI handsets can cost in the vicinity of $500 but there are also a few less expensive possibilities. WIFI solutions can have less voice quality if the network isn’t configured for VQqoS.

  2. DECT -  DECT systems consist of separate transmitters and receivers. Usually there’s a base station and sometimes repeaters.  Repeaters need to connect to base stations.  Smart system Snom, a German company that manufactures phones, features a newer system (M700) that permits multiple base stations in smart mesh mode. This system understands how to do handoffs of calls like a cellular phone tower. It uses a unique radio spectrum so there is no interference.  It also features encryption for extra privacy. Snom also offers a smaller system (the M325 DECT Bundle) that’s limited to one base station and up to five wireless handsets. Snom premium system enables more phones, more conversations.

OOS can integrate either type of solution into older systems to begin a transition to a completely new system.
